    • Autorepair is a bit of a mess

Bought a pair of these after a succession of punctures. they appear to work well in a puncture situation . However when fitting these to the wheel i had to release some pressure as the tyre had not engaged in the rim and the "gunk" from inside shot everywhere making a real mess. So be warned and cover the end of the valve when releasing pressure
not as heavy as they could have been

I purchased 4 of these online and fitted to 2 separate bikes. Of the four purchased:

1 x failed after approx 15 miles of riding with a small split around the air valve. Nothing had penetrated the tyre, the inner tube had simply failed.

1 x split after approx. 50 road miles with a 5cm straight clean tear after the tyres were inflated to 6.5 bar (that's not a lot for a road bike!). Inspected the tyre to check that nothing had penetrated the tyre and again it appeared that it was the inner tube that was the problem and not the tyre.

1 x split immediately after being fitted after approx. 40 miles with a 10 cm straight clean tear after being pumped up to 6.5 bar. Inspected again to check that nothing had penetrated the tyre and again it appeared that it was the inner tube that was the problem and not the tyre.

The 4th is holding on and no problems yet.

To make things worse when these inner tubes fail they spray a gooey orange substance everywhere which needs to be cleaned up. This is the stuff that meant to help avoid punctures.

I've replaced the ones that have failed with the standard Decathlon inner tubes and have had no problems since after approx. 50 miles..

Its a small sample but these inner tubes appear to be poorly constructed. I would have been happier to pay a couple of pounds more per inner tube and got something that was more robust.

      Response of the brand
      Hi David,

Thank you for taking your time to review the inner tubes. I'm sorry to hear that you have faced such issues with the quality of them. I'd suggest that you return them to your local store on your next visit to get a refund.

I will pass your concerns over the quality of these to the product manager to ensure the quality is as good as it needs to be.
