Bought this bike as a Christmas Present for my nearly three year-old son - his first proper bike. Our older daughter has absolutely loved her bTwin kids bike. It has had very heavy use and has been left out in the rain and allsorts. I can honestly say it has stood up to this, and has never skipped a beat. The quality and durability is impressive, which is what made is choose this brand again. The store have loads of display models to try out and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We took the bike away the same day as there were loads in stock.
I've been looking over the bike this weekend and found that the brake levers are the wrong way round. Front brake is on the left, not right as a UK bike should be.
I want him to get used to having front brake in his right hand and rear in the left, as when he progresses onto a bigger bike, this is the way it's likely to be and I don't want him continually braking with what will become the wrong hand and keep going over the handlebars.
I've phoned the store (Stockport) and apparently this is how all their bikes come to them from their European supplier. They swap the brakes over in the store to conform to UK regulations, but not on bikes under 16inch as they're classed as toys, not bikes. I can see the logic here, but it's a bit disappointing.
The store staff were very helpful and willing to swap them over for me, but this would mean a 20 mile round trip so I'm going to do the modification myself.
This might not be a problem to other buyers, but for me this was his first proper bike and should have had the brakes changed over like the others. It would have been a five-star review, but for this.
