    Product feature
    1. Footwear waterproofing test.
Footwear waterproofing test: Tested in the laboratory and in use, the shoes are equipped with a waterproof and breathable membrane which ensure the optimum protection against rain. It is first submerged in water under air pressure, used to check the absence of bubbles on the surface of the shoe. Then they are placed half submerged, on a mechanical arm which simulates walking, we then check that the inside of the shoe remains perfectly dry.
    2. 3 levels of waterproofing.
During the waterproofness test, we test three levels of impermeability, i.e. 2000 bends (about 2H00 of walking), 4000 bends (about 4H00 of walking) and 8000 bends (about 8H00 of walking). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry.
    3. Shoe waterproofing level.
The Forclaz 100 High boot is waterproof for 4000 flexes.
    4. Prolonging the waterproofing
A shoe's waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the shoe. Using waterproof gaiters or mini gaiters is therefore recommended to keep your feet dry for longer by protecting the top part of your shoes and prevent water from getting in as well as pebbles, sand, etc. Use of a re-waterproofing spray is recommended several times per year. This will help your shoes recover their original water-repellent qualities and combat outer stains.
    5. Field tests.
All our shoes are tested in comfort and in use, by users representative of those for whom the products are designed, under conditions identical to those that you can find in use. Specifically, our "Missions Tests" associate the product manager with people who are not affiliated with Quechua to test, develop and validate the products.
    6. Laboratory tests.
Other laboratory tests are also conducted to approve the quality of the following components: Tearing of the eyelets and straps, stitching, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and the components of the upper, accelerated aging.
    7. Buying guide.
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several models or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Gradually start using you shoes during your first few hiking trips to break them in.
    8. Which size do you choose?
When taking up hiking, do not hesitate to take a size above your usual shoe size to guarantee an optimal comfort when walking downhill and to avoid your toes rubbing on the inside of your shoe. Tip: Make sure you have short nails and before any descent, check that your lacing is tight to prevent your foot from sliding forward in the shoe.
