    • Rockrider 340 Mountain Bike - Blue

      dean (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Good bike for the price , I purchased two for christmas presents and so far so good , the delivery and customer service where horrendous, Arrived 4 days after guaranteed delivery date, After several emails and telephone calls was given some bull about computers going down , Ok it was december but only the 02, It was like the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing, It cost me a 1 days holiday and hours of emails and phone calls, When you work out the cost of a days holiday and all the aggro, I should have gone to where i got my bike (Mr, Ale Fords), Or take with you when you purchase at the store.
      Bike looks well built
Delivery and customer services absolute rubbish,

I have had my btwin rockrider 340 in lots as a teen I use it everyday after around 4 months the bike went massively downhill I have just had the pedals and gears replaced but still the gears don't work I cannot go into gear 3 I wish I had got the btwin 520 or 540 every time I have brought it in for repair the workers told me it's my fault now they have said they will not repair in any more even thought it's under 2 year warrinty.
      Response of the brand
      Hi James,

Sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your bike. The bike is really designed for occassional use rather than daily use. However the gears should work still with 4 months of daily use. The issue you have described is more of an issue with set up rather than the bike itelf. I suggest you call into your local store to get them to readjust this for you.

Used for 1 week or less
bike turned up, the brakes weren't aligned, wheels weren't trues. poorly set up. First ride out on this bike. Within 10 seconds in 1st gear the chain slipped off. Tried again, got some speed, moved up to second gear, chain slipped off (no chain crossing). Pedalled back down to 1st gear, chain slipped off. Crusing for 10 minutes and moved to go up a gear, chain slipped off and caught underneath the ddisc stopping muy bike. Both me and the bike went flying, i've got a couple of bumps, slammed my back against a curb and the bike was a little scuffed up. On my way to A & E now.
      The look of the bike
      Poorly Built, Dodgy Gears

I had this bike for a birthday present, and had it fitted in the shop the brakes were really squeaky its been a month since the bike was purchased and the brakes are still squeaking, really don't recommend this bike If I could trade it for the 540 I would
      Response of the brand
This should be remedied by your local Decathlon store. They need to make sure that the front part of your block touches the rim first when braking. This is called "toe-in". This film explains how it can be rectified.
They will also decrease your rims to make sure that all is clean.
I appreciate that this can be very noisy if not resolved.
